The route circles the Rain Oculus, a 22m-wide acrylic bowl that collects rainwater before flushing it into the canal. Perfect for the family, this eye-opening experience is a unique way to discover The Shoppes!

BONUS: Free things to do
While the Marina Bay area is known to be a pricier part of town, there’s still plenty of free stuff to do within MBS! Whether you’re on a tight budget, or simply spent from the shopping, here’s some of the best FREE activities around Marina Bay Sands.
Spectra – A Light & Water Show
Feast your eyes on the Spectra Light and Water Show, a visual extravaganza against the iconic Singapore skyline. Ooh and aah at an enchanting medley of light, water, and sound masterfully orchestrated into a 15-minute spectacle, using state-of-the-art lasers to project images onto colossal water screens.
Each element of this spectacle tells a compelling story, choreographed to an original orchestral soundtrack. Think of it as a magical bedtime story that won’t send you snoozing. It’s as if Mother Nature and technology had a brainchild, and it’s putting up a stunning performance night after night, completely free of charge!
Showtimes: Sun – Thurs: 8pm & 9pm, Fri & Sat: 8pm, 9pm & 10pm
Where: Event Plaza in front of The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands
Marina Bay Overpass
Connecting MBS and the Gardens by the Bay is the Marina Bay Overpass, a picturesque spot offering stunning views of the MBS hotel in the front, and the Gardens at the back. Lined with benches and trees, this overpass isn’t merely a bridge, it’s an oasis in the heart of Singapore’s busiest district.
Where: From The Shoppes at Marina Bay, look for a sign that says “Escalator to Gardens by the Bay” on level 1 of the mall. The escalator will lead you past the MBS hotel, and to the Marina Bay Overpass.
Check out the casino (for free!)
Singaporeans generally get the short end of the stick when it comes to visiting local casinos. The $150 levy means that a certain segment of Singaporeans have never seen the world-famous attraction for themselves.
Well, get ready to check that off your bingo list, cause there’s actually a way for you to see the inside of the MBS casino for free! Just locate the lift lobby on level 1 of The Shoppes, head on over to level 2, and you’ll get a bird’s eye view of the gaming happening below you. The floor’s actually host to several restaurants, and there’s talk that security has been placed in the area to chase non-patrons away – so keep that in mind when deciding to head down!
Where: On Level 1 of the Shoppes, find the lift located beside Tasaki located at L1-43/44.
