Artbox 2024 will take place on 26 to 28 Jan, and 2 to 4 Feb
After last year’s success, festival event Artbox will be making a return in 2024, with plenty of activities, food, and retail stalls across a 105,000 sq ft space! Taking place on the weekends of 26 to 28 January and 2 to 4 February, Artbox 2024 will take place at the Singapore Expo, promising to be an unmissable event for all Singaporeans.
Jointly organized by Invade and SGAG, this upcoming edition has been christened Artbox Avenue, featuring alleys themed after iconic locales such as Japan, South Korea, and Thailand.
We take a look at what you can expect from Artbox 2024, from KTV containers to chances to win $888 in various competitions!
Activities at Artbox 2024
Right smack in the middle of the Artbox space is an area dubbed the Open Plaza, where visitors get to express themselves with hands-on activities such as workshops to personalize trinkets such as sneakers, T-shirts, phone charms, and more!
That’s also where the KTV containers can be found. Run by Teo Heng, these enclosed boxes allow you to sing (or scream!) to your heart’s content, allowing you to fully showcase your singing prowess.
There’ll also be a selection of gaming experiences, such as Nintendo Switch gaming rooms, VR suites, and retro arcade games for those of us who prefer to remember our glory days of destroying all competition with Dhalsim on Street Fighter 2.
Artbox Competitions
For those among us blessed with special talents, there are two uniquely Singaporean competitions waiting for you to show your skills. The National Piak Cockroach Championship and National Water Bottle Tornado Championship will both take place, with winners of each tournament getting the chance to bring home $888 in cash prizes!
In addition, the iconic Beam of Pain from Artbox 2023 will return as the Hopscotch of Pain, with an additional twist. This time, participants will make their way across acupuncture mats by only hopping on one leg. Last year, SGAG cast members faced off with local celebrities in competition, and here’s hoping for more intense match-ups at the event!
