Discover Authentic Korean Delights at K Avenue Artbox 2024
Artbox 2024 isn’t just about all the food – it’s also about celebrating global cultures. And there’s nowhere quite like K Avenue, an alley dedicated to all things Korean. These vendors specialise in offering authentic Korean products that are not commonly found in Singapore.
From local snacks to art and hanbok rental, we take a look at five standout items that not only captivate the senses but also serve as distinctive embodiments of Korean craftsmanship and culture.
Hanbok Rental and Hair Styling
Located at Stall 66 in K Avenue, visitors to Artbox can indulge in a unique and immersive experience by renting traditional Korean hanboks for a delightful mini photo shoot around Artbox’s photo zones filled with art murals, street alleyways and structures.
Upon entering the booth, you’ll be welcomed with a wide range of beautifully crafted hanboks of all colours and styles, allowing you to live out your main character Gyeongbok Palace fantasies in the middle of Singapore Expo Hall 2. The staff also offer hair styling services with ornamental accessories and assistance in wearing the hanbok. This ensures that visitors, even those unfamiliar with traditional Korean attire, can enjoy a seamless and authentic experience.
Customisable BTS Shirt Designs
Located at booth 64, this one is for the BTS ARMYs. There’s a special booth at K Avenue where you can create your own shirts with BTS stickers.
First, pick a shirt you like from their selection of colours and sizes. Then, explore racks filled with BTS stickers to choose your favourites. Once you decide where to place them on the shirt, the staff will use an iron press to make the designs stick permanently.
It’s an easy and fun way for fans to personalise their BTS merchandise at K Avenue.
Traditional Korean Art
Catering to art enthusiasts, Stall 106 at K Avenue is managed by a talented Korean artist, specialising in traditional Korean art. All the artworks showcased at this stall are one-of-a-kind and in addition to his art done in scrolls, he also made stickers and keychains of his art for others to have a convenient piece of traditional Korean art on the go.
Authentic Products from Cities in Korea
Spanning from Stall 147 to Stall 144, this expansive booth at K Avenue beckons visitors with an array of authentic knick-knacks hailing from prominent Korean cities such as Gwangju, Jeju, Jeonju, and more.
Some interesting products include a bottle cap tea bottle where you can steep your tea in a water bottle and this self-heating candle lamp with a hanok (traditional Korean house) design. If you’re unsure of what to get, you can also get these lucky bags that have a little bit of everything from each city!
If you’re in need of somewhere to put your cash, there are also these handmade wallets. All funds made from these wallets will be donated to the families of the victims of the 2014 Sewol ferry incident, so definitely check it out!
Moisturising Solid Perfume
Indulge your senses at Stall 68, a haven for skincare and perfume enthusiasts. This stall unveils a unique gem – a special moisturising solid perfume.
Immerse yourself in the delightful blend of fruity, floral, and musky scents that harmoniously come together to create a relaxing and refreshing fragrance. What sets this solid perfume apart is its dual functionality, acting not only as a captivating scent but also as a moisturiser suitable for application on both the body and face.
Other than their moisturising perfume, they also offer Korean makeup and skincare products directly flown in from Korea.
