Get alcohol-free mocktails at Wanderlost Lounge
Situated at the rooftop area of Bugis+ is Wanderlost Lounge, a Muslim-owned restaurant known for serving bespoke alcohol-free drinks. Previously located at Enggor Street near Tanjong Pagar MRT, their current location now boasts of an upgraded menu, along with a refreshed selection of mocktails.
As seen to TikToker @asingaporeanabroad, the range of mocktails takes inspiration from the pages of literary classics, each meticulously crafted to reflect the essence of a fairytale or modern fantasy novel. Not only are these beverages a delight to the palate, but they’re also a feast for the eyes, served with a flourish and a twist of creativity that makes each sip a chapter worth savouring.
Drinks at Wanderlost
Take for instance, Beauty and the Beast, a concoction that’s as much a visual spectacle as it is a flavour delight. This citrusy and fruity blend marries the tropical sweetness of pink guava with the creamy richness of coconut, the zesty tang of lime, and the subtle tartness of sour plum yuzu.
Served in a dome much like the story’s Enchanted Rose, this is a drink that balances contrasts, much like the beauty and the beast within.
Then there’s The Ugly Duckling, a reminder that transformation can be a delicious affair. This tart and fruity mocktail features an ajwain distillate (a sharp, pungent spice commonly found in Indian cuisine) and grenadine base, topped off with sparkling grape. But it’s the presentation that steals the show: a pink bathtub, complete with dried rose petals and a cheerful yellow rubber duck, which promises to bring out the inner child in you.
For the Potterheads, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire awaits. This citrus and mildly spiced potion combines the warmth of cinnamon, the zing of pineapple juice, rounded off with a fizzy kick of ginger ale.
The drink’s presentation is confusing at first – a stack of books is served, with nary a trace of any beverage. However, take a closer look, and you’ll realise the books are actually a box, and within lies the golden goblet, complete with smoke and theatrics.
For food, Wanderlost serves a combination of western and local dishes, such as the Wanderamly Burger Lecak – their version of the well-loved ramly burger – along with generously-sized sharing platters.
Wanderlost Lounge, the halal-friendly bar
The idea of a Muslim-owned bar serving halal mocktails might seem unconventional, but it’s a concept that’s catching on like wildfire. It’s inclusive, it’s innovative, and it’s what the city has been thirsting for – a place where diversity is not just respected but celebrated.
Wanderlost isn’t just a triumph of halal-friendly entertainment; it’s a testament to the power of imagination and the universal love of storytelling. Here, every sip tells a story, and every visit adds a page to your own narrative.
